The Treatment

Every patient is treated in an individual room ensuring maximum comfort and privacy.

Chiropractic care is completely natural without the use of medications or surgeries.

Dr. Ross McLaren corrects the subluxations (vertebras that have lost their normal positioning and movement and consequently irritating the corresponding spinal nerve as it exits from the spinal cord) through manual adjustments to the spinal column. The chiropractic adjustment is a specific force in a precise direction that serves to restore normal position and motion to the blocked vertebrae.

The chiropractic adjustment is safe, efficient, and painless.

The chiropractor utilizes various techniques catering to every patients individual needs. For this reason, patients of all ages (from babies to senior citizens) with various health conditions (including osteoarthrosis and osteoporosis) can notice significant benefits from this type of care.

FIRST VISIT

The first visit includes the following:

History:

  • Consists of a series of questions regarding the symptomology, family background, general state of health and lifestyle habits.

Examination:

  • Orthopedic and neurological tests.
  • Specialized chiropractic procedures such as static palpation and motion palpation of the vertebral articulations.
  • Cervical and lumbar articular range of motion.

Radiographical Analysis:

  • Is recommended in some cases in order to verify vertebral misalignments.
  • To detect any problems that may slow down the healing process (such as arthrosis).
  • To rule out any contraindications to manual adjustments.

Who Can Benefit?

Everyone: people of all ages, pregnant women and athletes.

Many health problems among children and adolescents that are commonly labeled as “growing pains” have their origins in the spinal column. During this age group, the act of carrying heavy school backpacks and sitting in the classroom for long periods are some of the main causes of developing subluxations (displaced vertebras causing an irritation to the spinal nerves). Chiropractic examinations can detect these problems. Corrective adjustments at this age can help to prevent many of the complications seen later in adulthood. During this age group, the act of carrying heavy school backpacks and sitting in the classroom for long periods are some of the main causes of developing subluxations (displaced vertebras causing an irritation to the spinal nerves).

Chiropractic is very beneficial for pregnant women. We all know that the added weight of the fetus can provoke low back pain and sciatica because this increases the susceptibility of developing subluxations. Diminishing the irritation of the spinal nerves in the lumbar region can lead to a healthier and happier pregnancy.

A study by the RAND corporation compared senior citizens who were chiropractic patients to those who were non-chiropractic patients. The study found that the seniors under chiropractic care reported better overall health, fewer symptomatic chronic conditions, fewer days in hospitals and more mobility than the non-chiropractic patients.

There are several techniques available depending on the specific needs of the individual patient. Babies, senior citizens with advanced stages of osteoarthrosis and/or osteoporosis or people with acute pain, for example, receive adjustments with less force.

Athletes realize the importance in maintaining their bodies at a peak performance level. It is for this reason that many athletes are under regular chiropractic care.
